Operating System Installations and Upgrades

New versions of operating systems for computers keep being released. Eventually, you might want to do a clean installation of a new one, or upgrade to the most current version. It's very important to make sure that your existing hardware is able to support the new system, and that your backup is up to date before starting the process.

Clean installations can be great. Your computer behaves as though it was brand new. It's like starting from scratch. The traditional process involves erasing your hard drive. As a result, programs and files need to be reinstalled. Alternatively, operating system upgrades keep all your files and settings but don't restore your computer to a "like new" state.

System upgrades are much less of an issue with phones and tablets as compared to computers. It takes much less time and fewer things tend to  go wrong, but if you need help, we are here.
